The flying map is six airports on separate islands, plus a removed Christmas island. The in-game map can teleport you to an airport, and it shows other aircraft. Entering airport airspace can prompt air traffic control contact. PAPI lights sit on the runways.
Active airports
| Airport | Where it sits | Runways | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|---|
| Anchorage | Alaska region | 33/15, 25R/07L, 25L/07R | Large northern hub. Overhauls are tied to Update 6 and Update 15 |
| Elmendorf | Same landmass as Anchorage | 34/16, 24/06 | Military field. The hop from Anchorage is the shortest flight |
| Keflavik | Iceland | 28/10, 01/19 | Added in Update 5. One end of the longest route |
| Copenhagen | Bottom-left of the map | 22L/04R, 22R/04L, 30/12 | Added in Updates 13 and 14. The other end of the longest route |
| St. Martin | Caribbean | 28/10 | Revamped in Updates 16 and 17. Short runway and a low approach |
| Gibraltar | Narrow coastal strip | 27/09 | Revamped in Update 7. Water off both runway ends |
Nuuk, Greenland, runway 04/22, was a Christmas gift-delivery island. Later map notes say it was removed. Do not plan a contract there.
Distances players actually use
- Anchorage to Elmendorf is about 7 to 8 miles. A reported cargo-or-passenger payout on that hop is 9,600 Cash. Stay low and do not accelerate to airliner cruise.
- Anchorage to Keflavik is described as about 20 miles. An A330-200 passenger example on that leg is upwards of 60,000 Cash.
- Keflavik to Gibraltar is described as about 46 miles, with a fully loaded wide-body example around 136,000 Cash.
- Keflavik to Copenhagen is the longest path. Use it when the job reroll offers it and the aircraft can slow down for the arrival.
St. Martin legs around 28 to 31 km are also cited, with sample payouts such as 27,900 Cash for cargo and 30,500 Cash for passengers. Treat every sample as one observed completion.
How to fly the long pair
- Spawn at Keflavik or Copenhagen. The map teleport can place you there without a ferry flight.
- Accept a passenger or cargo job and cancel until the other airport is the destination.
- Climb, then press R to hold altitude.
- Start down early. Gibraltar and St. Martin are less forgiving than Copenhagen's longer strips, but Copenhagen still uses heavy-aircraft momentum if you are in the A380.
- Park on the job marker, not merely on the runway.
Match speed to length. The SR-71's 2,076 knot catalog speed is for this long pair. It is a poor fit for Anchorage to Elmendorf.
